“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”

1 John 4:16(NIV)

We often wonder what it really looks like to live close to God.

Is it more prayer?

More knowledge?

More discipline?

All those things matter—but Scripture brings it back to something even more foundational.

Love.

When we love, we are just like Him.

This verse was written by John the Apostle to believers navigating what it meant to truly follow Christ.

There was confusion about truth, identity, and what real faith looked like.

John powerfully simplifies it: you can’t separate God from love. It’s not just something He does—it’s who He is.

And if God lives in you, love will show up in your life.

It’s something so simple, yet at times very difficult for so many people.

Just Love. No matter what.

😇 Apply It To Your Life

Living the Words of Scripture means applying them to our lives.

Here are three ways to integrate it into your life.

Let love be the measure, not just belief
It’s easy to say we follow God—but this verse gives a clear marker.
Not perfection, but direction: is love growing in how you respond to others?

🕊 Stay rooted in God’s love for you first
“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us…”
You can’t consistently give what you’re not receiving.
Living in love starts with being grounded in the knowledge of how deeply you are loved by God.

🌿Choose love when it’s not easy
Real love isn’t just a feeling—it’s a decision.
Patience when you’re frustrated. Grace when someone doesn’t deserve it. Kindness when it would be easier to withdraw.

That’s where God becomes visible through you.

🙏 Let’s Pray Together

Dear God, our Father in heaven,
I choose love. I want to love others because You first loved us.

Even when the world responds with hatred, help me to reflect Your love to those around me. Remind me that many people are carrying pain, and what we see on the surface is often shaped by wounds and fear.

Give me patience, compassion, and understanding, so I can respond with grace instead of judgment. Use me to show that love brings healing, draws us closer to You, and can begin to restore what’s broken.

God, You are love—and I desire to reflect who You are in how I live.

Amen.

👍 Have a Blessed Day Out There!

Choosing to love is easier than you may think. It’s a choice that begins with you and knowing God loved you first.

The more you choose love, the more your life reflects Him.

When we choose to love, the positive energy we create circles back to us; in that act of giving, we discover that we are loved in return.

Embrace love, and watch how it transforms both your life and the lives of those around you.

If this spoke to you, share it with someone who needs the reminder.

Stay grounded, stay growing, and keep drawing closer to Him.

Quentin.
