“But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God.”
1 Peter 2:20 (NIV)

We often expect that if we do what’s right, things should go well. That obedience leads to ease, recognition, or at least fairness.
But sometimes the opposite happens.
Sometimes doing good leads to difficulty, resistance… even suffering.
So what do we do then?
Sometimes, it's challenging to stand up for what we believe is right when the opposition is so strong.
It can feel as if the whole world is against us or that we don't belong.
However, nothing could be further from the truth.
When we turn to God and Scripture, and follow our hearts to do what is right, He sees us.
We are acknowledged from a place beyond the world's understanding.
The apostle Peter is writing to believers who were experiencing real injustice. They were being mistreated—not for doing wrong, but for living differently and following Christ.
Key Thought
Doing good isn’t always rewarded by the world—but it is always seen by God.
😇 Apply It To Your Life
When we engage deeply with God's message to us, our lives are transformed.
Here are some ways to live the Word.
✝ Don’t let hardship change your character
It’s easy to justify pulling back when doing good isn’t reciprocated.
But this verse reminds us: your integrity isn’t based on how others respond—it’s rooted in who you are before God.
🕊 Endurance is part of faith, not failure
Suffering for doing good can feel like something’s gone wrong.
But sometimes it’s actually evidence that you’re walking the right path—and choosing to stay faithful in it.
🌿Trust that God sees what others don’t
“This is commendable before God.”
Even when it goes unnoticed, unappreciated, or misunderstood—God sees it. Nothing done in faithfulness is wasted.
Reflection
Where in your life are you tempted to stop doing good because it’s costing you something?
🙏 Let’s Pray Together
Dear Father,
I desire to do Your will in this world.
There are times I feel alone as I stand for what is right, when the world doesn’t love the way You have taught me.
Give me the strength to stand against what is wrong—with a spirit that reflects Your love and Your goodness. Let my words and actions point back to You.
Your Word is my shield and my comfort.
Remind me that You see me—and that is enough.
Amen.
👍 Have a Blessed Day Out There!
Doing good isn’t always easy. Sometimes it costs more than you expected.
But God sees your faithfulness. He honors your endurance. And He is at work even when you can’t see the outcome.
We’re all learning to stay steady in doing good, even when it’s hard.
The Word of God serves as our guide, helping us discover the righteous path in a world that often disguises goodness and virtue.
Let us step out boldly with Christ in our hearts and act according to what we believe is right, even if it means standing against the crowd.
If this spoke to you, share it with someone who might need the encouragement.
Stay grounded, stay growing, and keep drawing closer to Him.
Quentin.
This Week…
Choose to continue doing one good thing—even if it feels unrecognized or difficult—and offer it to God.
